Lanee Barlow cried when she learned that the Kalamazoo Bodybuilding Championships in Michigan were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement on March 15 came two weeks ahead of the scheduled competition.
The mother of three had been in serious training mode, waking at 5 a.m. to hit the gym twice a day. “It’s hard not to be disappointed. But I have my family to take care of and realize health and safety come first,” she says.
