The Midnight Gospel Trailer at Netflix

Netflix has released the first trailer for its new adult animated series The Midnight Gospel.

The show comes from Pendleton Ward, the creator of Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time, and podcaster Duncan Trussell.

But despite the Adventure Time connection, the trailer suggests the series has a more Rick and Morty vibe – but even weirder.

The Midnight Gospel follows Clancy, a spacecaster who has a malfunctioning multiverse simulator and uses it to leave the comfort of his extra-dimensional home on the Chromatic Ribbon to interview beings living in other worlds.

Describing his mission, Clancy says in the trailer: “There are beautiful wondrous worlds full of intelligent beings with stories to tell.

“And I’m going to interview them, but my interviews online, and make a bunch of money so suck my dick.”

Yes, this one isn’t for children.

Meanwhile, Rick and Morty’s fans have been eagerly awaiting new season four episodes since ‘Rattlestar Ricklactica’ aired on December 15.

Earlier this month, fans were given a 15-second teaser clip on the show’s official Twitter account, though there’s still no word yet on when it will return to our screens. Hurry up, would ya!

The Midnight Gospel debuts on Netflix on April 20. Rick and Morty season 4 airs Sundays on Adult Swim in the US and airs in the UK on E4 and All 4 on Wednesdays.
